CBI arrests Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar from Mohali office in corruption case
PTC News Desk: In a significant action, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar from his Mohali office in corruption case, according to the sources.
The central agency has made the arrest in connection with the corruption case after receiving credible inputs. The sources further said that DIG has been accused of taking Rs 4 lakh bribe every month.
The sources further revealed that the action was taken after a scrap dealer filed a complaint against DIG in Mandi Gobindgarh.
Sources said one more private individual was also whisked away by CBI sleuths in connection with an alleged corruption case.
A, 2007-batch IPS officer, Harcharan Bhullar has held several key positions in the Punjab Police. Currently he is serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Ropar Range.
Ironically, Harcharan Singh Bhullar was known for his honesty and massive crackdown against drug mafias. He has taken strong measures against drug mafias, organised crime, and issues related to social security, earning a reputation within the police department as a tough and impartial officer.
