Sikh organizations sit on protest near Chandigarh-Mohali border; Seek release of ‘Bandi Singhs’

Chandigarh, January 8: Qaumi Insaaf Morcha has been set up on Chandigarh-Mohali border. In many ways, the religious protest is similar to farmers’ protest that was set up on Delhi-Haryana borders. ‘Qaumi Insaaf Morcha’ is supported by various religious, farmer bodies and other organisations. Protesters seek release of ‘Bandi Singhs’ and strictest punishment for the ones accused in sacrilege bids (blasphemy).

As per media reports, protesters have announced that they will not leave protest site to meet anyone, if anybody wants to meet them or wishes to discuss issues with them shall be required to visit the protest site.

Meanwhile, to prevent protesters from entering Chandigarh, a large number of police force has also been deployed. Big barricades and tippers filled with sand have been installed to prevent Sikh organizations from going to Chandigarh.

The leaders of the organizations involved in ‘Pucca Morcha’ said that their struggle will continue till the time Bandi Singhs are not released.
