Tarn Taran horror: Law student who shot himself after killing classmate, remains critical
PTC News Desk: The condition of the law student, who allegedly shot himself after shooting dead his classmate in classroom of a law college in Punjab's Tarn Taran district remain, said a police official.
“The condition continues to remain critical. He is still unconscious,” Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jagbir Singh said over the phone.
The entire shooting incident was captured on CCTV installed in their classroom.
The video shows Prince Raj, 20, a first-year law student at Mai Bhago Law College in Usma village, on Monday shot dead his classmate Sandeep Kaur and later turned the gun on himself. While Sandeep succumbed to her injuries on the spot, Prince is currently battling for his life at Amritsar's Guru Nanak Dev hospital.
The parents of the female student have alleged that there were no significant security arrangements on the college campus and flagged severe security irregularities. The family has demanded strict action against the college management.
Police said an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind killed and from where did Prince procure the weapon, which appeared to be illegal.
A case was registered under Section 103 (punishment for murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
