Voting begins for Panjab University Student Council, 21 candidates in fray for 4 posts

Panjab University Student Council: The voting for the Panjab University Student Council, Chandigarh begins amid the tight security arrangements across the university. 

The voting started at 9:30 am and ended at 12 noon


In PU elections, as many as 15,693 students will cast their votes to elect the new Panjab University Campus Students’ Council.    

A total of 179 polling booths have been set up in 69 departments for voting. The counting of votes will take place in the gymnasium hall.

Nine candidates are competing for the post of PUCSU president, four candidates in fray for post of vice president, secretary, and joint secretary of PUCSC. Only four of the 21 are women.

The main battle is between Yuvraj Garg (SOI)and Divyansh Thakur (CYSS)

Notably, around 15,693 students of Panjab University to cast their votes to elect the new Students’ Council and about  43,705 voters from 10 collages to exercise their votes for Panjab University Campus Students’ Council. 

Notably, Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) won a landslide majority in the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) elections 2022.
