Kapurthala, March 3: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey, who is in judicial custody in the money laundering case till March 10, has reportedly taken ill, say sources. He is admitted to ICU of Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar, following complaints of chest pain. Currently, Bhupinder Singh Honey is lodged in the Kapurthala jail. He had been complaining of high blood pressure and chest pain for the past few days. His health again deteriorated on Sunday morning. Earlier, the Punjab Chief Minister's nephew was taken to the Kapurthala Civil Hospital. He was taken to Amritsar hospital via police van on Thursday. The Enforcement Directorate maintained that Honey remained non-cooperative through questioning. Harneet Singh Oberoi, the advocate for Bhupinder Honey, had earlier said that the ED had alleged that his client was not cooperating. He said they had put forth their ground in front of the Judge and informed the court that Honey was suffering from Covid-19. All reports were also presented, he claimed. However, there was no involvement of Honey, in that case, claimed Harneet Singh Oberoi. Punjab CM's nephew Bhupinder Honey admitted to Amritsar hospital When asked about the recovery of money, Honey's advocate said since the matter was sub judice, he could not divulge many details. According to ED documents, Honey has "confessed that Rs 10 crore recovered during the raids belonged to him". The federal agency alleged that he was getting money from illegal mining too.
