Punjab Floods: Around 20 villages in Lohian Khas flooded in Jalandhar

Punjab Floods: Around 20 villages in Lohian Khas have been flooded after a dam was damaged due to the overflow of water in Jalandhar post heavy rainfall in Punjab. The locals said, "administration is yet to provide us any help. People are facing problems due to flood. We request the government to put up some tents for the public." The damage of the dam was caused due to the overflow of water in Sutlej river following the heavy rainfall which has already caused a lot of damage to the state. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1163995480667381761 The Indian Meteorological Department last week issued an alert regarding the heavy rainfall, which caused a lot of dent to the state. Also, the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, earlier this week had announced the compensation of Rs 100 crore for the floods affected people. Likewise, Captain Amarinder Singh did conduct a survey to look out the condition of the flood-affected areas on Monday, this week. Also, the people were seen climbing the roof and been stranded in the flood-affected area.
