A 27-year-old photojournalist from Patiala, Jaideep, died due to the novel coronavirus on Sunday. The contagion disease has so far claimed 1086 lives in Punjab.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal took to Twitter and wrote: "My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of 27-year-old Jaideep, a young photojournalist from Patiala, who lost his life after being infected with COVID-19. May Gurusahab give strength to all of them to bear this irreparable loss."
Similarly, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted: "Saddened to hear about the demise of Jaideep, a young photojournalist from Patiala, who unfortunately succumbed to Covid-19. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. RIP!"
Raveen Thukral, the media advisor to Captain Amarinder Singh, said in a tweet: "Shocked & saddened to hear of the death of 27-year-old Patiala photojournalist Jaideep, due to COVID-19. My deepest condolences to his family and friends."
Youth Akali leader Parminder Singh Brar also tweeted: "My heartfelt condolences on the death of 27-year-old Patiala photojournalist Jaideep, due to COVID-19. Youth must realise that Covid-19 is as dangerous for them as the elderly. Please take precautions regardless of your age. ??"
