SAD delegation submits memorandum to Punjab Governor over farmers’ land acquisition

A delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal on Friday met the Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit and handed over the memorandum on the issue of farmers’ land acquisition under Bharatmala Pariyojana. Besides Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Jathedar Tota Singh, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and NK Sharma were also present. Meanwhile, Sukhbir Singh Badal targeted the Punjab government, specifically the Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu. He said that the appointments in Cabinet should be done by the Punjab Chief Minister while Sidhu has been doing all the appointments. It's been five days but the newly appointed CM has not finalized his cabinet. He slammed the Punjab government for only trying to target Akalis. The officers were being asked if they can arrest Akalis within 20 days, he said, adding that Shiromani Akali Dal was ready to court arrest. The SAD president further accused the government of not focusing on the development of the state. The state government is instigating the public, he added. -PTC News
