SAD demands registration of sedition case against Sukhpal Khaira The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today demanded registration of a sedition case against rebel AAP Mla Sukhpal Khaira accompanied by his immediate arrest for participating in anti - national activities designed to demoralise the armed forces. In a statement here, party spokesman Col CD Singh Kamboj said a case should be registered against Sukhpal Khaira under section 124 (a) for becoming a tool of Pakistan’s ISI agency and spreading enemy propaganda in the country. Col CD Singh Kamboj, who is also a member of the SAD’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC), said Khaira had also insulted army personnel by levelling heinous allegations against them. “Khaira has teamed up with Pakistan’s ISI and become their mouth piece by repeating their falsehood of Indian army engaging in rapes in Kashmir. The factual position is that the Indian army, which is the most disciplined force in the world, has always safeguarded the interests of the local population. Moreover the movement of army personnel is not allowed beyond the Cantonment areas in Kashmir”, he added. Asking Khaira not to become a puppet of Pak Generals, the Akali leader said even Khaira’s remarks about how the army was handling insurgency in Kashmir were highly objectionable. “Instead of speaking out of his hat Khaira should try to put himself in the army’s shoes and then only he will realise how his statements have hurt the sentiments of the armed forces as well as all country men”. Terming Khaira’s outburst against the Indian army as most disturbing, Col Kamboj said it had come at a time when the entire country was in mourning. “It also matches the anti - India propaganda launched by extremist groups in the social media. It should be ascertained why Khaira made these remarks knowing fully well that he would only play in the hands of anti- nationalist elements by doing so”, Col Kamboj added.
