SAD tells Bittu: raise issue with Cong, as no action against Sarkari Jathedars involved in terror funds from ISI The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked Congress mp Ravneet Bittu not to lie in parliament and ask his own Congress government why it was not taking any action against ‘sarkari’ jathedars sponsored by it despite they being accused of receiving terror funds from Pakistan’s ISI agency. In a statement here, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said it was shocking and condemnable that Ravneet Bittu was misleading parliament with malicious propaganda by accusing the SAD of stoking fire in the State, when the truth was that it was the Congress party which had opened a franchisee of Referendum 2020 at Bargari. Asking Bittu to explain how he could support an anti-India agenda in Punjab and try to showcase his false patriotism in Delhi, Mr Majithia asked him to come clean and explain why the Congress party had propped up sarkari Jathedars to divide the Sikh community”. Mr Majithia also asked Bittu to tell how the Congress government was allowing these sarkari jathedars to receive foreign funding from the same persons who were funding Referendum 2020 which was an ISI mission codenamed Operation Express. “The Congress government is shielding these radical elements and refusing to order a probe into the source of foreign funds received by them despite the issue being in public domain now. The SAD on its part has demanded a CBI inquiry into this issue, but Bittu is apparently oblivious to this grave issue of national security and wants to use parliament to indulge in sycophancy of the Gandhi family”. Mr Majithia said it was also a matter of shame that Bittu had kept quiet about the role of the Congress Jathedars in framing the final report of the Justice (retd) Ranjit Singh Commission which had been entrusted with probing sacrileges of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji in Punjab. “Why is Bittu hiding the fact that the report of the sacrilege commission was prepared in the Congress Bhawan by Jathedars who have been propped up by the Congress party? he asked saying the Commission should be renamed “Injustice Congress Gandhi Commission”. Stating that Bittu had not learnt a lesson from his aunt Indira Gandhi who had destabilized Punjab by attacking Shri Darbar Sahib with tanks and mortars besides the role of the Congress party in the massacre of Sikhs in 1984, Mr Majithia said the Congress was now on a similar course. “The Congress party has challenged the authority of Shri Akal Takth by propping up its own religious heads. Such steps have earlier resulted in twenty years of turmoil. Bittu is now again playing out the game plan of the Gandhi family to divide the Sikhs in order to rule them”. The Akali leader said it was also abominable that Ravneet Bittu was still trying to derive political capital from his grandfather Beant Singh’s assassination. He said Bittu had hidden the crucial fact from parliament that both he and his brother Gurkirat Kotli had earlier advocated clemency for their grandfather’s assassin Balwant Singh Rajjoana. “You can’t demand clemency for Rajjoana in Punjab and death sentence for him in Delhi”, he added. Stating that such stage managed dramas during zero hour in parliament spoke of Bittu’s desperations to cosy up to Gandhi scion – Rahul, the Akali leader said Bittu was only playing into the hands of anti-national forces. “If Bittu is really concerned about peace in Punjab and communal harmony, he should immediately support the demand for a CBI probe into foreign funds received by the sarkari jathedars. He should also raise his voice for a probe by a sitting judge of the Supreme court into all cases of sacrilege instead of standing by a Congress party probe through a handpicked party Commission” he added.
