SAD's Bikram Singh Majithia not to contest from Majitha
Shiromani Akali Dal’s senior leader Bikram Majithia on Tuesday announced his withdrawal from his current constituency Majitha for upcoming assembly polls 2022.

Accepting the challenge given by his political rival Navjot Singh sidhu Majithia had filed his nomination from two Amritsar constituencies one from Amritsar East where he will be contesting election against Sidhu and another from Majitha constituency- the seat he has been representing for two consecutive terms.
Addressing a press conference Majitha said, “Taking this decision wasn’t easy for me, voters of this constituency have blessed my political career throughout and now are family to me. Therefore my wife, Ganieve Kaur, who is raising my children, will now nurture this constituency and serve you all.”

Majithia's wife Ganieve Kaur on Monday filed papers as SAD candidate from Majitha. Her proposer, Majithia is mentioned as Bikramjit Singh. Earlier, she was the covering candidate for her husband.
