A bench consisting of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justices AS Bopanna and Hima Kohli agreed to list the matter for an early hearing. Lawyer Prashant Padmanabhan mentioned the petition for urgent listing of the issue before the apex court panel stating, "This is regarding class X and XII exams. Physical classes could not be conducted due to pandemic." Will offline board exams be cancelled? Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, a child rights activist, filed the petition, requesting that state boards, CBSE, ICSE, and NIOS, which are planning to hold board exams for classes X and XII in the offline mode, release a notification regarding an alternate mode of assessment instead of the offline exams. Will offline board exams be cancelled? The petition also asks for the establishment of a committee to decide on a formula for assessing students, including compartment students, and to announce the results within a set time frame and deadline. “Our main priority is getting rid of physical board exams completely this year. We want the Supreme Court to instruct the boards to conduct internal assessments for students,” Anubha Shrivastava Sahai was quoted saying by the Indian Express. Will offline board exams be cancelled? She further said that the motive behind this is to make sure that students do not have to take any additional mental stress, as they have already “suffered mentally, physically and financially during the last two years due to Covid-19”.
