WhatsApp to roll out screen sharing feature for Android users
Washington (US), May 31: WhatsApp maintains its users' interest by introducing new features and updates to the platform.
Screen sharing is available on iOS phones during FaceTime chats, as well as other video call services such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, according to the Mashable website. Screen sharing on WhatsApp may soon be available on Android smartphones as well.
The feature will surely come in handy for things like playing Wordle with your partner, looking at a vacation schedule and other things.
According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.11.19 will let select beta testers try the screen-sharing feature. It is expected to be made available to additional customers in the coming days. According to Engadget, older Android handsets may be unable to handle the upgrade, and you will most likely be unable to use the function on calls with too many people or if the person you're chatting with does not have an updated WhatsApp.
After updating the app, click the icon of a phone with an arrow pointing out of it - this button will be near other options such as muting. According to WABetaInfo screenshots, you'll then be confronted with "Start recording or casting with WhatsApp?" and a disclaimer about how WhatsApp will manage the information it sees when you expose sensitive credentials including passwords, photos, and payment details.
When you select "Start now," you're on your way.
According to reports, WhatsApp is working on new features such as usernames, archive statuses, and others to make the app more dynamic and user-friendly.
It will also include an app language and message draft filter, as well as a password reminder option, among other things.
