SAD to support BJP in Delhi polls: Sukhbir Singh Badal
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will support Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi Assembly Elections 2020, SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Wednesday. While addressing the press conference, Sukhbir Singh Badal was joined by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Manjinder Singh Sirsa, its 46 members and BJP President JP Nadda.
Earlier, Manjinder Singh Sirsa had announced that SAD will not contest elections from Delhi. "The SAD-BJP alliance is not just a political alliance. It is bound by emotions, for peace, the future, and interests of Punjab and the country. There were some misunderstandings that have been sorted out," Sukhbir Singh Bada said.

According to the information, the top BJP leadership got it touch with the Shiromani Akali Dal leadership to seek support for the upcoming Delhi Elections. "We never broke the alliance. We just decided to contest the election separately," said Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Likewise, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda said that "The alliance of BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal is the oldest and strongest. I thank Akali Dal for supporting BJP in the Delhi elections." Delhi Elections are scheduled to be held on February 8, while the results will be declared on February 11.
