The development comes amid rising in Covid-19 and Omicron cases in India. As per the sources, Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to a hospital after his RT-PCR test for the Covid-19 report turned out to be positive. However, Sourav Ganguly's health is said to be stable at the moment. The fresh surge in Covid-19 cases has brought a few cities across the country back to restrictions. Delhi and Mumbai are the cities where fresh Covid cases are witnessing a sharp hike, especially that of the new variant Omicron. Meanwhile, the Omicron tally continues to grow. According to the latest figures, there are a total of 653 confirmed cases. The active caseload in India stands at 75,456 while the recovery rate, at present, is at 98.40%.
