Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh secure spot in bronze medal match for 10 m air pistol mixed team event

 Paris Olympics 2024: India's shooting team at the Paris Olympics 2024 achieved a positive outcome as Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh secured a spot in the bronze medal match for the 10 m air pistol mixed team event. 

The duo scored 580-20x points in the qualification round, earning them third place. They will compete against South Korea, who finished fourth with 579-18x points, for the bronze medal. 


The gold medal match will feature Turkiye (582-18x) and Serbia (581-24x). 

Unfortunately, Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema ended in 10th place and did not advance to the medal match.

In the mixed team 10 m air pistol qualification round, each team member shot 30 shots over 30 minutes, with 10 shots per series. The top four teams advanced to medal rounds. Rhythm and Cheema, with 194 points (97 each), ranked fifth after the first series, while Manu-Sarabjot, with 193 points (Manu 98, Sarabjot 95), ranked sixth. 

In the second series, Manu-Sarabjot scored 195 points (Manu 98, Sarabjot 97), while Rhythm-Cheema scored 192 points (Rhythm 99, Cheema 93). In the third series, Manu-Sarabjot scored 192 points (Manu 95, Sarabjot 97), and Rhythm-Cheema scored 190 points (Rhythm 92, Cheema 98). Manu-Sarabjot ended with 580-20x, and Rhythm-Cheema with 576-14x, finishing tenth. 

Bhaker won bronze in the women’s 10 m air pistol, becoming the first Indian woman to medal in shooting at the Olympics, with a score of 221.7, marking a significant comeback after her Tokyo Olympics setback.
