Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul ruled out of second Test against England

India vs England second TestThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced that Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul won't be available for the second Test match against England due to injuries. The upcoming Test is scheduled to begin on February 2 in Vizag.

Following India's 28-run loss in the first Test in Hyderabad on Sunday, the BCCI revealed, "Ravindra Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during play on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad. KL Rahul complained of right quadriceps pain. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring the progress of the duo."

In response to these setbacks, the Men's Selection Committee has included Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar in India's squad for India vs England second Test. Notably, this marks Sarfaraz Khan's first call-up to the Test squad.

Additionally, Saransh Jain has been named as a replacement for Washington Sundar in the India A squad for the third and final multi-day game against England Lions starting on February 1, 2024, in Ahmedabad. Avesh Khan will continue with his Ranji Trophy team, Madhya Pradesh, and will join the Test squad if needed.

The updated squad for India in the second Test against England includes Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Avesh Khan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Sourabh Kumar.
