Virat Kohli flies back to Mumbai due to 'personal emergency', fans await update
Virat Kohli flies back to Mumbai: India batter Virat Kohli was reportedly forced to return to Mumbai from Guwahati due to a 'personal emergency,' while the rest of the Indian side arrived in Trivandrum for their second warm-up game against the Netherlands.
Though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not confirmed whether Kohli will miss the warm-up game, a report indicates that the star batter will return in time for the Netherlands match and will rejoin his teammates on October 02.
Kohli remains a pillar of the Indian team. Though the Netherlands warm-up game isn't crucial, the batter would like to get some runs in since the previous match against England was called off due to rain.
"A source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that he went to Mumbai for personal reasons. Virat will rejoin the team soon," Cricbuzz reported.
It isn't yet known what the personal emergency is but he is expected to return to the team in time.
Kohli appeared in only one of India's three ODIs against Australia in the recently concluded series. The batsman was in good form in the third ODI, scoring 56 runs despite the Indian team's defeat.
