'Stop raping us': Topless woman storms Cannes red carpet to protest against sexual violence in Ukraine
Cannes (France), May 21: A semi-naked woman protestor was removed from the Cannes red carpet on Friday after she protested against sexual violence against women in Ukraine.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the woman stripped off all of her clothes as she fell to her knees screaming in front of the assembled photographers. Following this security guards rushed over to her and covered her with a coat.
The woman protester had put paint over her body in the colours of the Ukrainian flag and the words 'Stop Raping Us' across her chest and abdomen. She also appeared to have blood-red paint over her lower back and legs with the word 'SCUM' written on her back.

As per the reports, the incident took place on the red carpet at the premiere of George Miller's 'Three Thousand Years Of Longing', starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton. The director and stars were present when the episode took place.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there have been multiple instances of Russian soldiers raping Ukrainian civilians since the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered an emotional speech through a live satellite video address at the 75th Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony, calling on filmmakers to confront dictators.
