Sukhbir Badal condemns CM Mann for 'subletting' Punjab Police to Kejriwal

Chandigarh, May 6: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday said that it was unacceptable that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann sublet the police force to Arvind Kejriwal to help the latter settle his petty personal scores at a time when the law and order situation in the state is at its worst and communal harmony is in disarray. Asking Bhagwant Mann to not become a puppet in Kejriwal's hands, the SAD supremo stated that “Instead of keeping himself busy by deputing Punjab Police teams to Delhi to arrest opponents of AAP, the CM should take review meetings of the law and order situation in the state. He should punish those responsible for inciting communal tensions in the recent Patiala clash." Sukhbir Badal also advised Bhagwant Mann to avoid vendetta politics and said, “Punjabis did not elect AAP for this task. Punjabis want to see the state undergo the transformation promised. Sukhbir Badal Instead of keeping its promises to the people, the AAP government is filing charges against political opponents like Tejinder Bagga." "The Punjab Police is known as a professional police force, but the way the AAP government is misusing it has made a mockery of it. The State DGP should show requisite courage and avoid becoming a part of vendetta politics”. Sukhbir Badal Sukhbir Badal further added that the recent events had dispelled any doubts that Arvind Kejriwal was treating Punjab as a colony to expand his political empire. "The Punjab chief minister has effectively become a 'subedar' of the Delhi Durbar. All officer postings and transfers are handled from Delhi. The Punjab government has effectively merged with the Delhi government. The two governments recently reached an agreement that allows Delhi to have complete administrative control over Punjab. It's alarming that, after selling Punjab's interests to Delhi, chief minister Bhagwant Mann is now enforcing illegal orders to file cases and arrest AAP opponents," he said.
