Sukhbir Singh Badal announces Virsa Singh Valtoha as candidate for 2022 polls from Khem Karan
Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday announced the senior party leader Virsa Singh Valtoha as the candidate from Khem Karan for the forthcoming Punjab Assembly Elections 2022.
Earlier in the day, the SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia had pitched his voice for Virsa Singh Valtoha to be the candidate from the Khem Karan constituency.

While announcing the gathering, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal is the only party of Punjabis. Listing the work by his party, the SAD president said that the Badal government gave airports to Punjab while the farmers and poor were given all facilities.
He further slammed the Punjab government and said that not even a single tubewell connection was given in the last four years. Shiromani Akali Dal has been raising voices for farmers, the poor, and labourers, he said.

Criticising Captain Amarinder Singh, the SAD president said that the Chief Minister has played with the emotions of Punjabis. He asked the Punjab CM to name just one road that he made in the last four years.
He further said that if Shiromani Akali Dal came into power then these farm laws would get repealed. Later, he said that Congress had promised, in its manifesto, that they will close the Mandis.
"Following overwhelming demand from the people of the constituency I announced the candidature of former chief parliamentary secretary S. Virsa Singh Valtoha from Khemkaran on behalf of SAD at a massive rally held at Amarkot," he said.
