Sultan of Johor Cup: India, Japan continue their winning spree India and Japan continued their winning spree in the Sultan of Johor Cup Hockey Tournament by recording their second successive wins on Sunday. While India blanked New Zealand 7-1, giant killer Japan shocked Great Britain 2-1 to keep their records clean.

For India, the flattering win was masterminded by bot only Shilanand Misra (two goals) but also by penalty corner conversions by skipper Mandeep More (60th minute) and Mohammad Faraz (23rd minute).Rest all were field goals.
It was Prabhjot Singh who set the ball rolling with a brilliant solo in the sixth minute followed by Shilanand Misra in time teams broke for end of first quarter. In the second quarter Harmanjit Singh (21st minute) and Mohammad Faraz found the target. Shilanand Misra (43rd minute) added the fifth goal in the third quarter and goals by Abhishek and Mandeep More completed the tally for India while  Haha Sam reduced the margin for New Zealand just a minute before the final whistle.
It was second defeat for New Zealand in as many games.
Earlier, Japan continued its superb showing in the tournament defeating Great Britain 2-1. Kosoi Kawabe (10th minute) and Raiki Fujishawa (29th minute, penalty corner) had put Japan 2-0 ahead before Stuart Ramshere pulled one back in the 30th minute to make it 1-2 for Great Britain.
