Tamil film 'Jai Bhim' features on Oscars' YouTube channel
It's been three months since the release of Suriya's critically acclaimed courtroom drama 'Jai Bhim' and it is still making headlines for one reason or another.
The latest news is that the official YouTube channel of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has featured a scene of the film along with director Gnanavel's story narrative under its 'Scene At the Academy' segment.
The 12 minutes 47-second video begins with the opening scenes of the film and then shows Gnanavel explaining the film's theme of the film, followed by key sequences from the legal drama.

"The first sequence of the film shows the police segregating tribal people on the basis of caste," director Gnanavel says in the video. " It might be referred to as the film's theme. How easy a powerful system can label oppressed people as habitual offenders based on their caste," he adds.
'Jai Bhim,' directed by TJ Gnanavel, is a hard-hitting courtroom drama about the fight for the oppressed and discrimination based on caste. Suriya portrays Chandru, a lawyer who dedicated his life to fighting for the oppressed without charging a single penny.
Fans took to social media to express their delight after witnessing a glimpse of Suriya's film in the Oscars' video.
Where a social media user tweeted, "Jai Bhim is going places. Whatta news," another commented, "Pride of Indian cinema, Suriya."
Notably, 'Jai Bhim' also entered the Golden Globes 2022 as a nomination under the category of Best Non-English Language Film.
