Ajnala clash fallout: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Amit Shah to meet on March 2
Mohali, March 1: In the wake of the Ajnala clash between supporters of 'Waris Punjab De' head Amritpal Singh and police personnel, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would be meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on March 2, sources said on Wednesday.
It is learnt that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would be travelling to Delhi as his meeting with Amit Shah had been fixed for the afternoon on March 2. The top of the agenda would be Punjab's law and order situation and the Ajnala clash.
A 1,000-odd supporters of Amritpal Singh broke barricades and stormed into the Ajnala police station recently. They were seeking the release of one Lovepreet alias Toofan, who, they claimed, had been fabricated in a false case. The Ajnala police later moved court and sought the release of Toofan, who was then released from the Amritsar jail.
