The user cheekily noted that expectations were around Rs 1,000-Rs 2000 crore, but Rs 5,000 crore was "mind-blowing." The post humorously pointed out that this amount could sustain five generations of a family.
The wedding took place on July 12. which drew global celebrities such as former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Kim Kardashian, and Samsung CEO Han Jon to Mumbai.
Reddit users couldn't resist poking fun at the extravagant expenditure and the concept of generational wealth. One commented, “If the Ambanis spend Rs 3 crore daily, their wealth would last 962 years.”
Another mused about starting their own generational wealth with Rs 3 crore, while a third jested about launching a “Garibo ko 1 crore daan yojana” (Give Rs 1 crore to the poor scheme).
One user offered a detailed theory, suggesting that the Rs 5,000 crore wedding was a strategic investment by Reliance Industries. They pointed out that hosting 10 Oscar ceremonies in the US would cost less, and even a cruise party in Italy wouldn’t approach Rs 1,000 crore. “Businessmen don’t spend that kind of money without a return. In contrast, the Anant-Radhika wedding accounts for only 0.5% of the Ambanis' fortune.
