Jalandhar police bust gang operation, arrests notorious criminals linked to Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang

PTC News Desk: In a concerted effort to combat gang-related crime, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, under the leadership of Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, made significant strides by apprehending three dangerous gangsters associated with the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. The operation also resulted in the seizure of three pistols and six live cartridges.

According to Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, the arrests followed a tip-off suggesting that members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang were planning criminal activities within the city. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the police set up a strategic operation, leading to the apprehension of Lalit, also known as Lucky, son of Binder and a resident of Garha.

Lalit was found in possession of a country pistol near Gurdwara Urban Estate Phase-1. He has since been charged under FIR No. 42 dated 17/04/2024, under sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act.

During interrogation, Lalit disclosed crucial information, revealing his involvement, along with his associates Nikhil, alias Bholu, and Parasdeep, in the murder of Rajdeep Sethi, also known as Vinu, on 14/03/2024 in Amritsar. While Sahilpreet, alias Sohi, Abhi Gill, and Sanju Randhawa have been apprehended by Amritsar police in connection with the case, Nikhil and Parasdeep remained at large until their recent arrest in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.

The police recovered two illegal indigenous weapons from Nikhil and Parasdeep, confirming their affiliation with the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. Nikhil faces nine pending cases involving serious charges, while Parasdeep is implicated in seven cases. In contrast, Lalit has no prior criminal record.

Commissioner Swapan Sharma em  phasised that the arrested individuals had procured weapons with the intent to eliminate rival gang members. He assured that the investigation is ongoing, promising further updates as details unfold.
