Police later informed, four other members of the family -- Sehajpreet Singh, Sukhmani Kaur, Vicky and Kiran, were injured and were immediately rushed to a private hospital.

Punjab: Fire engulfs house in Amritsar leaving three dead

Amritsar, April 5: A horrific incident took place on wee hours of Wednesday, three of a family died while four others were injured in a massive fire broke out at a house in Rose Avenue locality in Islamabad area of Amritsar. 

According to police reports the deceased were identified as Tajinder Singh, wife Narinder Kaur and son Dilvansh. The fire was caused by a short circuit that erupted at a house in Ram Nagar Colony. The fire spread massively and engulfed the house killing three people who were trapped inside.

Police later informed, four other members of the family -- Sehajpreet Singh, Sukhmani Kaur, Vicky and Kiran, were injured and were immediately rushed to a private hospital. The fire department officials immediately reached the spot on receiving the news and started investigating. In a total, seven members have been injured from this incident, the police said. 

According to police, short-circuit was apparently the reason behind the incident.
