PTC News Desk, Jaipur: A Rajasthani store owner tricked a US woman into purchasing fake jewellery valued at Rs 300 for an astounding Rs 6 crore, according to the police.

The gold-polished silver jewelry was purchased by US citizen Cherish at a store in Jaipur, Rajasthan's Johri Bazaar. It was discovered that the jewellery was phony when it was on show at an exhibition in the US in April of this year. Cherish rushed to India and faced Gaurav Soni, the proprietor of the shop.

The American woman reported her claims to the Jaipur police, but the shop owner denied them. She also asked the US embassy for assistance, and they encouraged the Jaipur Police to look into the situation.
