PTC News Desk: Astronomer has placed CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot on leave following backlash over a video showing the two at a Coldplay concert, which sparked criticism both publicly and within the company. Two days after the incident, the company released an official statement confirming that its board had launched an internal investigation.
Additionally, the company clarified that the woman seen in the video was not Alyssa Stoddard, the Vice President of Human Resources, refuting false claims circulating on social media.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability," the statement said.
"The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly," it added.
The company also announced that co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy will take over as interim CEO while Andy Byron remains on leave.
A video featuring Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert has drawn significant attention and sparked questions about workplace professionalism. Filmed during a "kiss cam" segment, Byron was seen hugging Cabot from behind.
