PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident in Bihar's Bettiah, a one-year-old child named Govinda bit a cobra to death while playing near his home. The snake reportedly approached him, and in an instinctive reaction, Govinda grabbed it and bit it, causing the cobra to die instantly.
The child, who had been playing near his home, soon fell unconscious after the bizarre encounter. His family quickly took him to the nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC) for immediate treatment. However, due to the worsening condition, Govinda was later transferred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah.
Doctors at GMCH confirmed that the child is now stable and under close observation. Govinda’s grandmother, Mateshwari Devi, explained that the child’s mother had been nearby collecting firewood when the cobra appeared. She recounted, “The snake came out, and the child hit it with something before biting and killing it. It was a gehuaan (cobra). The child is just one year old.”
This rare and extraordinary event has left the local community stunned as the child battles the aftermath of such a dangerous encounter.
