Ace Indian boxer Mary Kom reached the semi-finals (51kg) of the Women’s World Boxing Championships on Thursday. The six-time World Champion defeated Rio Olympic bronze medalist Ingrit Valencia of Colombia 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the 51kg division at Ulan Ude, Russia.

Meanwhile, the Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "5 Indians being in the quarter-final is itself a record but Mary Kom is assured of a medal again.
