A day after Ahmedabad plane crash, Air India flight makes emergency landing in Thailand after bomb threat
PTC Web Desk: An Air India flight from Thailand’s Phuket island to New Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday after a bomb threat was reportedly received while the aircraft was airborne, according to a statement from the Phuket airport authorities cited by Reuters.
The flight, AI 379, which had 156 passengers on board, departed from Phuket International Airport at 9.30 am local time (0230 GMT). Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft made a wide detour over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket for an emergency landing, as indicated by data from Flightradar24.
Following its return, the airport initiated standard emergency procedures. All passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft in coordination with the Airports of Thailand (AOT). The authorities confirmed that emergency response protocols were actively in place, although they did not disclose specific information about the nature or origin of the bomb threat.
Investigations are currently underway as security teams inspect the aircraft and airport premises to ensure the safety of all involved.
