Bhutanese King Jigme Wangchuck to visit India from April 3-5
New Delhi, April 1: Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, King of Bhutan, will pay an official visit to India from April 3 to 5. According to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs, he will be accompanied by Dr Tandi Dorji, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, and top officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan.
President Droupadi Murmu has invited him to visit India. The King of Bhutan's visit is in keeping with the long-standing tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries, and he will see President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit.
Foreign Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and key officials will meet with Bhutan's King.
India and Bhutan have special friendships and cooperation connections that are marked by mutual understanding and trust.
The visit would enable the two sides to review the entire scope of bilateral cooperation and to advance the tight bilateral partnership, including economic and development cooperation.
