Colorado, June 2: President Joe Biden tripped over an obstacle and fell on stage at the Air Force Academy in Colorado on Thursday, but he appeared unharmed and later joked about it.

Biden, 80, had just shaken hands with a cadet and was walking back to his seat after delivering the military academy's commencement address.

Air Force personnel assisted him in getting back up, and he did not appear to require any further help. As he stood up, Biden pointed to the object that appeared to have caught his foot. It looked like a small black sandbag on the stage.

Shortly afterwards, White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt tweeted, "he's fine. There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands."

Later, on his way back to the White House via Air Force One and Marine One, Biden had another incident: he bumped his head exiting the door of the helicopter.

As he walked across the South Lawn, he showed no signs of injury and joked to reporters, "I got sandbagged."

Biden is the oldest president in history, and he is running for re-election in 2024. This year, his official doctor's report pronounced him physically well, and he exercises on a regular basis.
