Iran has executed three men accused of spying for Israel's spy agency Mossad. The developments come a day after both Israel and Iran agreed to a ceasefire proposal brokered by the US, following 12 days of fierce conflict.

Additionally, as many as 700 people have been arrested for ties with Israel, the state-affiliated Nournews reported.

Entangled in a decades-long shadow war with Israel before the recent open conflict, Iran has put to death many individuals convicted of having links with the Mossad and facilitating the latter's operations in the country.

The fragile truce brokered between Israel and Iran—reached after the US backed Israel by bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—had a shaky start. Both Tehran and Tel Aviv accused each other of breaching the ceasefire, prompting a stern and visibly frustrated response from US President Donald Trump.

Despite the tensions, the 79-year-old President later asserted that the ceasefire was holding. He reassured the public on Truth Social, saying Israel would not carry out further attacks and that its warplanes were returning home. “Israel is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly 'plane wave' to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the ceasefire is in effect,” he wrote.

The latest flare-up began when Israel claimed that Iran was closer than ever to developing nuclear weapons—a charge that Tehran has strongly denied.
