Pakistan vs Balochistan: Baloch leader's big claim, alleges Pak govt of demolishing 40 mosques
PTC News Desk: The Pakistani government, which has been criticising India for profiling mosques in Kashmir, has now itself been cornered in the country.
Mir Yar Baloch, a prominent Baloch political figure and human rights advocate, has sharply criticised Pakistan, accusing the government of demolishing multiple mosques in Balochistan. According to him, while Islamabad has accused India of profiling mosques in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Pakistani forces themselves have destroyed nearly 40 mosques in Balochistan.
His comments were a direct response to Pakistan’s objection to the Indian government’s move to map and profile mosques, imams and management committees in Kashmir. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry claimed that such actions interfere in religious matters and violate the fundamental right to freedom of religion.
What Mir Yar Baloch stated
Condemning what he called Pakistan’s hypocritical stance, Baloch referred to the country as a “terrorist state” and accused it of persecuting Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, and other minority groups.
"The first victim was the mosque of the ruler of the Republic of Balochistan, the mosque of the Khan of Kalat, when the invading army of our neighbouring Pakistan rolled its tanks and fired artillery and shells on civilians population. The mosque of the Khan of Kalat still heard the signs of mortar shells, which is proof of Pakistan's brutalities, occupation and un-Islamic behaviour," he added.
He said on X that the “Republic of Balochistan fully supports Bharat’s principled position on PoJK,” adding that Pakistan has no moral authority to lecture India, Balochistan, Afghanistan or any other region on minority rights when its own army uses extremist religious groups to threaten and suppress minorities.
Mir Baloch further claimed that Pakistan’s “external forces” have destroyed almost 40 mosques in Balochistan, stating that these acts included bombings, burning copies of the Quran, and kidnapping mosque leaders.
