PM Modi in Greece | Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched down in Greece on Friday, marking his inaugural visit to the country at the invitation of his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis. This visit makes PM Modi the first Indian Prime Minister in the past four decades to embark on an official journey to Greece.
The last time an Indian Prime Minister visited Greece was in 1983, underlining the significance of this visit in bridging the gap of nearly 40 years.
Upon his arrival, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome. His journey to Greece commenced from Johannesburg in South Africa, where he was attending the BRICS summit.

In a statement shared on X, Paul Levesque, Chief Content Officer of WWE, conveyed, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just arrived here from Johannesburg after attending the 15th BRICS summit." He added that the PM's day in Athens is set to be bustling with engagements, including a wreath-laying ceremony at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, meetings with the Greek President and Prime Minister, interactions with business leaders, and engagement with the Indian community.

Outside the Athens hotel where PM Modi is staying during his one-day official visit to Greece, members of the Indian diaspora gathered, waving tricolours and placards to welcome him.
