Russia asserts Putin's 'good health' and dismisses health speculation
Moscow, October 24: On Tuesday, refuted all speculations surrounding the health of President Vladimir Putin, asserting that he remains in good health. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, during a routine press briefing, also categorically dismissed claims that the president utilizes body doubles, referring to such allegations as "absurd hoaxes."
The concerns regarding Putin's health emerged following an unverified report from a Russian Telegram channel, which was subsequently picked up by some Western media outlets. The report alleged that the president experienced a severe health incident on a Sunday evening.
Vladimir Putin, known for his passion for judo and his cultivated "action man" persona, celebrated his 71st birthday on October 7. Despite his age, he maintains a rigorous schedule filled with meetings and public appearances, many of which are broadcasted on television.
Notably, his recent activities included a visit to China the previous week, along with stopovers in two Russian cities on his return journey. It's important to recall that during an interview in 2020, Putin addressed long-standing rumors about the use of body doubles, explicitly denying their existence. However, he did acknowledge that he had been offered the use of body doubles in the past for security reasons.
In April of this year, Dmitry Peskov reaffirmed that the notion of body doubles was baseless and reiterated that Putin enjoys robust health.
