Tragic accident claims lives of two Punjab youths in US
Hoshiarpur (Punjab), March 8: A pall of gloom descended on Dhesian village in Hoshiarpur district after the news of the death of two youths from the village in a tragic accident in the United States reached here. The deceased, Sukhjinder Singh (23) and Simranjeet Singh (23) had been residing in California, United States, for the past two years, working on a temporary work assignment.
The unfortunate incident occurred as the duo, employed in running a trailer together, collided with an oncoming vehicle on Highway 144 while attempting to correct their course from the wrong side. The accident was so severe both youths succumbed to their injuries. The families of the victims, Sukhjinder Singh and Simranjeet Singh, have urged the authorities to facilitate the expeditious repatriation of their bodies to their ancestral village so that the final rites could be performed with due dignity and respect.
