13 killed, 31 injured in Agra-Lucknow Expressway accident

Agra-Lucknow Expressway accident: In a major road accident, thirteen people were killed and 31 others were injured as the bus, in which they were travelling, collided with a truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway on the intervening night of Wednesday. The accident took place in Firozabad. Meanwhile, all the injured have been admitted to the Saifai Medical College. Among those injured, six people are said to be critical. Vishwa Deepak, Medical Officer, Emergency Ward of Saifai Mini PGI, stated that at least 31 people were injured patients have been admitted while 13 people were brought dead. Also, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rajesh Kumar said that "The bus was going from Delhi to Motihari in Bihar, when the double-decker bus hit the container truck from behind." Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to reach the spot and look after the relief work. Also, the Chief Minister has issued directives for proper treatment of those injured in the mishap. Among those deceased have been identified as Anil Shah, Bhoora (the truck driver), Bhagwan Chaudhary, Chandan Mahto, Gulshan Kumar, Harindra Paswan, Kalamuddin, Mukesh Kumar, Nageshwar Shah, Rakesh Kumar Chandhan, Vinod Kumar. Meanwhile, two of the deceased are yet to be identified. Inspector General of Police Agra, Satish Ganesh, said that "The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus was crushed heavily.
