SAD sarpanchs husband Navpreet Singh Navi shot dead in Tarn Taran for protesting against drug menace

PTC News Desk: Another incident reflecting collapsing law and order situation in Punjab has come to the light where husband of husband of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) sarpanch Kulwinder Kaur was shot dead in Gaggobua village under Jhabal police station in the Tarn Taran district.
The deceased has been identified as Navpreet Singh Navi. He was shot outside his home and was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

After learning about the incident, SAD constituency in-charge Kanchanpreet Kaur Randhawa reached the village and met the bereaved family. She alleged that several Akali leaders had been targeted for a long time and blamed the Aam Aadmi Party government for failing to maintain law and order. She also alleged that the police administration was not taking such incidents seriously.
SP (Investigation) Riputpan Singh said that a high-level investigation has been launched under the supervision of DSP Sukhbir Singh. He said efforts were underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest.
