FIR filed against miscreant for creating ruckus at SDH Jagraon

Ludhiana, October 21: An incident of misbehaviour with the on-duty Medical Officer had been reported from SDH Jagraon on Thursday. The miscreant assaulted other patients, created ruckus and damaged public property. The on-duty MO and SMO i/c informed the local thana promptly.

PCMSA Ludhiana followed up the matter strongly with the SHO.

Consequently, the miscreant has been nabbed and a FIR filed in this regard.

Jagraon

The matter holds significance in the backdrop of a letter issued on 19th October by DGP(Law and Order), Punjab carrying instructions to ensure foolproof security arrangements at all Government Hospitals in the State. This letter was issued in response to an indefinite hunger strike by PCSMA Mohali General Secretary Dr.Rajesh Singla, demanding adequate security arrangements at all 24*7 Government hospitals in the State.

PCMS Association Punjab strictly follows a zero tolerance policy to violence against doctors and all such cases will be dealt with strongly. We are keeping a keen eye on the recent letter by DGP(Law and Order), Punjab and will ensure that it is effectively implemented in all Districts over the next 2-3 weeks, failing which, strong measures may have to be resorted to by the PCMSA.
