PTC News Desk: In a horrific incident, five armed men, casually walking inside a hospital in Bihar's Patna entered a patient's room and shot him on Thursday.

After firing multiple shots, the armed men fled the premises while Mishra sustained multiple injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital, according to the officials.

"A criminal named Chandan Mishra was admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment and was shot by members of a rival gang. It cannot be ruled out that the security guards were involved. We will investigate this angle as well," Central Range (Patna) Inspector General Jitendra said.

The incident has drawn massive political backlash with questions being raised on the law and order situation of the state under Nitish Kumar-led NDA government.
