PTC News Desk: Dense fog in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha on Sunday morning triggered a major pile-up on the Lucknow–Delhi National Highway (NH-9), injuring more than a dozen people as visibility suddenly dropped.

The incident took place near Shahwajpur Dor village in the Gajraula Kotwali area, where the thick fog led to nearly 10 vehicles colliding in a chain reaction.

Police teams and ambulances quickly arrived at the scene and transported all the injured to a nearby hospital. The heavy impact of the collisions caused confusion on the highway, resulting in prolonged traffic disruption. Due to the intense fog, drivers were unable to see the vehicles ahead, causing repeated crashes.

Police later deployed cranes to clear the wreckage and restore traffic movement. Treatment of the injured is ongoing, and officials have begun an investigation into the accident.
