New Traffic Rules: 3 Auto-rickshaw drivers charged Rs 9,400, Rs 27,000 and Rs 37,000 in Gurugram

Gurugram: Three auto-rickshaw drivers have been charged Rs 9,400, Rs 27,000 and Rs 37,000 as challan on Wednesday by Gurugram Traffic Police for violating traffic rules. Meanwhile, ACP (crime) Shamsher Singh said, "challans being issued under provisions of Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019". The Motor Vehicle Act 2019 was implemented from September 01, 2019. On Day 1, the Chandigarh Police issued 185 challans in the Tricity.

Recently, a case has been witnessed in Gurugram only, where a man was challaned Rs 23,000, to which the man denied paying challan as he said, he can't afford it. The fine has been increased to the ten times of the previous penalty. The Traffic police have also started working aggressively, as the Motor Vehicle Act has been passed keeping in mind the increasing number of road accidents.
