Chandigarh, June 21: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday did not give any relief to former Punjab Cabinet ministers Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Vijay Singla.
While Bharat Bhushan Ashu had moved an anticipatory bail petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Vijay Singla had approached the HC for regular bail.

Former Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu had moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking directions to Punjab to not arrest him or take any coercive step against him in the FIR registered in the matter concerning alleged irregularities to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore in allotment of labour and transport tenders for lifting grains.

The HC On Tuesday directed the former minister's lawyer to present some more documents related to this case in the court. The matter will now come up for hearing on July 6.
On the other hand, former Punjab Health Minister Dr Vijay Singla was arrested for allegedly seeking 1% commission for tenders passed. The state health department floats tenders worth thousands of crores for buying medicines, equipment and other material.

Singla's lawyer said there was no recovery nor any evidence against him in this case and he wsa in the jail for a month, so he should be given relief. However, the court said the matter was complicated, so it would be heard by a regular Bench. The matter will now come up for hearing on July 4.
