PTC Web Desk: DIPS school in Punjab’s Tanda in Hoshiarpur district has received a threatening email warning of a major blast if its students attend the Republic Day programme scheduled to be attended by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on January 26.

According to officials, DIPS School, Tanda, received the email, which explicitly warned the school administration against sending students to the state-level event in Hoshiarpur. The email claimed that a “big blast” would take place if the warning was ignored.

DSP City Hoshiarpur, Davinder Singh Bajwa, confirmed the incident and said the matter is being taken seriously. “The school management has lodged a complaint, following which an FIR has been registered. The email contains a threat asking the school not to send students to the Chief Minister’s programme on January 26,” he said.

He added that a detailed investigation is underway and cyber teams are examining the origin of the email. “At this stage, we are verifying all details. Necessary security measures are being reviewed, and further information will be shared as the investigation progresses,” the DSP said.

Punjab has witnessed a series of hoax bomb threat emails targeting schools in recent months, prompting heightened security and concern among parents and authorities. Police have repeatedly stated that mischievous elements are attempting to create panic and disturb public order in the state.
