PTC Web Desk: A major rescue operation is underway after a four-year-old boy fell into a newly dug borewell near Chakk Samana village on the Hoshiarpur-Dasuya road on Friday evening.
According to officials, the child, identified as Gurkaran Singh, son of Ravinder Singh and a resident of Chakk Samana village, was playing near his house when he accidentally slipped into the uncovered borewell pit. The child is believed to be trapped at a depth of nearly 70 feet.
The incident triggered panic in the area as local residents rushed to the spot and informed the authorities. Teams from the administration and police immediately reached the site and launched rescue efforts.
The Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner is personally supervising the rescue operation, while teams are working on a war footing to safely pull the child out. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been informed and additional rescue equipment is being arranged.
The tragic incident occurred at Chakk Samana village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Haryana police station in Hoshiarpur district. Authorities are continuously monitoring the child’s condition and making all possible efforts to ensure a safe rescue.
