Punjab cops get Director General's Commendation Disc award

Employee Appreciation Day: On the occasion of Employee Appreciation Day, DGP Punjab Police awarded the prestigious Director General's Commendation Disc to the police officers to boost their morale and encourage them to continue their exemplary work. 

In the meanwhile, DGP Punjab Police also appreciated the CIA team of Mohali police for taking swift action on the viral video of abducting and chopping fingers of a person in Mohali.

Notably, Punjab Police arrested three in the chopping fingers incident in Mohali. The three have been booked under sections of IPC for kidnapping, mutilating the fingers with a machete and other provisions. 


Earlier, last week a horrific video went viral all over social media in which three men were seen chopping off four fingers of the left hand of a youth.

The victim has been identified as Hardeep Singh (24), a resident of Phase I. 

As per the statement of the police officials, the victim was linked to the murder of a friend of the accused last year. 

Notably, Employee Appreciation Day is  celebrated every year on March 3 across the globe. The day recognises employees' contributions to the organisation and expresses gratitude for the years of hard work they have put in.
