PTC Web Desk: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member from Maharashtra and prominent Sikh leader Gurinder Singh Bawa visited Sri Guru Ramdas Ji Charitable Hospital and Medical College during his visit to Amritsar on Sunday.

During the visit, Bawa inspected various hospital wards and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he interacted with patients and enquired about their health and treatment facilities. The 1,400-bed hospital, one of the major healthcare institutions run under the SGPC umbrella, provides advanced medical services to thousands of patients every year.

Gurinder Singh Bawa, also a trustee of the hospital, held discussions with the hospital management regarding the future expansion of the medical college. He stressed the need to introduce super-specialty medical courses to further strengthen healthcare education and services at the institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Bawa said the SGPC, as the apex body of the Sikh community, had always been committed not only to religious responsibilities but also to public welfare initiatives. He highlighted that the SGPC successfully ran several schools, colleges, universities and hospitals across the country.

“I feel immense satisfaction after visiting this hospital. Through this hospital and medical college, thousands of people are receiving quality and modern medical care. Advanced treatments in orthopaedics, cardiac care, and cancer are available here, which is a matter of pride for the Sikh community,” he said.
